Problems with The Work

As you go throughout this month spring cleaning your mind, you may, sometimes, find yourself stuck when you’re dealing with your lizard thoughts.

Although you know that once you find a lizard thought, all you have to do is ask four questions and then do the Turnaround, sometimes challenges present themselves and it can be difficult to figure out where you’re going wrong. Here are some of the most common places where my clients get stuck when they are doing thought work. 

1. You are using the Work (or another cognitive-behavioral strategy) to invalidate the way you feel about something. 

2. You are using the Work to challenge a fact. 

3. You’re not really ready to let go of a lizard thought because it is someone tied to your identity.
